A Step By Step Solution of Skype problem with Playback Device
Playback device error is the most common type of error occur when you try to connect Skype with other users. it is hard to track this error for people who don`t have proper computer knowledge because there can be several reasons for this type of error.
We are providing you with a step by step solution with pictures, following given steps you can easily solve this problem if you are currently facing this error or if it occurs in the future.

Step 1: Open Skype and click on Tools tab on the Skype menu and it will open Options menu where we will check whether Playback devices is selected or no.
Step 2: On the Skype, options menu click on “Audio Setting” button at the left side of the menu. It will show you the Microphone and speaker options on the right side.
Step 3: Click the Speaker drop-down menu to check if playback device is selected, This must be device port where your Speaker or headphone are connected, and it should be Speakers option.
Step 4: Click on blue play Button if it starts ringing that means you have selected a right playback device.
Step 5: Click on “Show advanced options” button to check devices order. If you see your main playback device is at the lower position on the list move it to top it will make it as your default playback device.
By following all these steps if you are still not getting a solution try another method call it as “Advanced solution”.
Step One: Type “mmsys.cpl” into windows search bar in the menu and it will open sound control panel, here we will check our default device is selected or not. If default device is not selected then first select the “Speakers/Headphones” and click on “Set Default” button.

Open windows device manager through typing “devmgmt.msc” it will launch windows device manager where you have to find and open “Sound, video and game controllers” option in the devices list and click on your default device and delete it, finally restart your pc and check if Skype is Working.
